Sid Haig to Receive Lifetime Achievement at Eyegore Awards this Friday

All we can say is that it is about damned time someone recognized the man himself, and it's with great pride that we report the following!

At this year's Universal Eyegore Awards, Sid Haig will be receiving a lifetime achievement award, presented to him by Rob and Sheri Moon Zombie. The Eyegores honor individuals for their achievements and dedication to the horror genre. This year's ceremony will take place this Friday, September 24th at the Globe Theatre located at Universal Studios Hollywood.

Having appeared in over 60 films and more than 350 television episodes and working with such iconic directors as Roger Corman and Quentin Tarantino, Sid's horror genre performances in Rob Zombie’s House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil’s Rejects have earned him wins at the Fangoria Chainsaw and Spike TV Scream Awards ceremonies. Now, he will be receiving the third piece of the horror award trinity, the Eyegore.

"After almost 50 years in this business, it is an amazing feeling to be honored at such a prestigious genre event as the Eyegore Awards. Thank you to everyone who has made this possible." says Haig.

Excerpts from the ceremony will be shown on the Universal Halloween Horror Nights website at the Halloween Horror Nights website. Be sure to check it out!
